In case it seems like I just get on here and write about whatever’s in my head at the moment, uh, you’d be pretty much right. But I’ve been skimming all sorts of blogs so far this month that I don’t normally run across, and in reading them I’m struck not only by the vastness of the blogosphere but also at the sheer amount of creativity that’s out there.
So I’m going to be borrowing some ideas.
Except, not just now. But you’ll have some things to look forward to in the future! Like when this month is over. But the ideas are so intriguing and it’s nearly impossible to choose just one, or one at a time.
Most days, Nathaniel more or less ignores Eric. As the older brother I suppose it’s his due, but in the past several months I’ve been enouraging more of a connection there. Eric won’t be little always, and although he’ll always look up to his big brother in a variety of ways, there will come a time when he won’t be as interested in putting himself out there unless they forge more of a connection now.
So tonight it was wonderful to see them playing together in a space where one didn’t feel obligated and the other felt like he was really a part of the experience. Mostly they were just chasing each other around the room, but the look of joy on each of those beautiful faces was a wonderful sight to a parent who feels more like a referee some days. And then Eric could lie next to me on my big big bed tonight while I read to the three of them and just laugh and laugh, having been so filled with the things that erupt in laughter for him that he couldn’t hold it all in any longer.
That’s how good writing feels. That there is so much wonder inside that it simply has to come out and dance joyously across a page.

This is lovely.
NaBloPoMo is great for forcing us to just write something … anything… and occasionally we touch on true beauty
