True! Bought the last item yesterday. And when I say “bought”, understand that I don’t mean got into my car and drove to a crowded mall or heaven forbid strip mall and parked looked for parking for twenty minutes and then parked and got out and wandered around aimlessly, slowly losing brain cells to the endless Christmas music blaring everywhere and the sight of every available surface decked out, piled up, or laden with useless crap that people will want like it’s gold or myrrh or maybe frankincense or something and then take it home and tenderly wrap it using many many pieces of tape and colored paper and then place it under a dead tree and then watch indulgently as someone else opens it and then eventually puts it aside.
Nay, I say nay!
I shop online.
Plus I bought three things for each child. Three. Or close to three. Because we are transitioning out of Consumerist Mode into Time is the Gift Mode. And I bought tickets to Cirque du Soleil months ago and that counts as a present.
So I am all done and there are some boxes in my closet.
Yay.
And now I have to avoid being online or visiting Woot! anymore. Not that I have bought anything at Woot! but, you know, I could. One day the right deal will be there for me at Woot!, if I remember to visit it, which I hardly ever do.
So I will finish your shopping for you if you like, since I of course have all this time on my hands now for the entire month of December. I’m very good at it; just give me your list of whom to buy for and how much you want to spend and, oh, a list of their favorite 100 or so things in the universe and I will find just the right gifts for everyone and they will be amazed at your perfection and all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your eggnog because I will do it all for you.
Really! I can do this.
You know you want to.
Who else do you know who is DONE and it is not even December yet?

Well, I shopped for myself at Lush. And I know they ship to Canada.
Um…can’t divulge too much else without possibly giving things away to web-savvy son.

What, you don’t shop for yourselves?

congrats on your three gifts thing… i may try something similar in future.
i am “close to done” but also in my usual puddle of trouble bec. i shop all year long - thrift strores, clearance sales, etc.
it all goes into my “gift box.”
some of it is earmarked for specific people, some of it not.
what happens?
i usually have five gifts for someone easy to buy for and nothing for someone who is hard to buy for. ;-)))
i do the “experience” thing also. we’ve gone to pickle family circus the last few years… this year we will see the winter revels.
i use a cool website which offers tickets half off which i am loathe to share publically bec. without it, i would not be able to do the experience thing. it is only for a few cities in the u.s., anyway. in any case, it allows me to do this sort of thign sometiems.
i’ve also tried to create some of our own traditions… such as going to see the holiday lights, etc. downtown, using public transit, buying one ornament each year on this outing, and getting a hot chocolate at end of evening. i write the yaer on the ornament, that sort of thing. most of our other ornaments we have made… in fact, since i am “maker,” we have too many ornaments… sometimes we give ornaments as gifts to family members.
i want to start up some more of these (traditions)… some more “earth-based,” etc.
why do i feel like i am now rambling??? ;-)))
enjoy the season!

I am also finished miss thang. Done and delivered. Can’t stand the malls, hit it all online and besides some last minute stocking stuffer’s at Cost Plus World Market, nada!!
I love the internet and I hate the malls. WOO Hoo, now onto relaxing and crafting my (so not advent) Advent Calendar…If my kids were old enough to know that some come with chocolate… They’ll hate me some day..
Maybe I can create a business out of making personal advent calendars for folks.. I’ll blog about it..
Happy hols
