I’ve decided it’s owls

NaNoWriMo Comments Off

Remember that weird sound I wrote about before? Well, I think it’s owls. Not as if I’ve never heard owls before, but I wouldn’t have guessed owls to begin with. They sound, I don’t know, extra morose or something. Maybe it’s Pennsylvania owls.

Anyway, this post, MY SECOND FOR THE DAY I MIGHT ADD, is brought to you by the fact that tonight I have exceeded the 10,000 word mark in NaNoWriMo! That’s TWO posts AND about 4000 words (I needed to catch up in a bad way), ALL TODAY! So if it sucks that’s why (my brain is numb). To celebrate another way, I’ve included an excerpt in the Writing section, above. Please don’t write and tell me it sucks, as that will probably cause me to delete every word or throw my computer out the window or both, and then I’ll never talk to you again. Because I won’t have a computer. So don’t do that. Please.

either I really like the pressure or I have no concept of time management

Things I am going to start/do in November:

1. Yoga

2. Running

3. More cycling

4. NaBloPoMo

5. NaNoWriMo

Things I am not going to do in November:

1. Partake of alcoholic beverages (except in emergencies)

2. Eat

3. Sleep

So, the Big Question here is: AM I INSANE OR WHAT??

There’s actually some logic here. Hear me out:

1. The yoga will give me energy to do all the other things. I was fairly religious about doing sun salutations morning and evening the summer before last, and I’m convinced it’s a large part of what was set in motion for my move to Colorado at the end of that summer, the fact that I’ve had to move BACK to Pennsylvania notwithstanding. But: I stopped doing the yoga when I moved to Colorado. See?

2. Since I can’t be on a bike all the time, I’m going to have to find alternatives for exercise. I hate running, so that choice is obvious.

3. More cycling. I do have to rationalize the expense of my new cycling gear, don’t I?

4. National Blog Posting Month. We talked about this before. I’m on the list, dammit, I can’t back out now!

5. National Novel Writing Month. Why not add this little bit on to everything else? It’s only about 2000 words a day; 50,000 by the end of the month. And I can’t begin until tomorrow (though notes and outlines are okay). Piece of cake!

And the taking away? Obvious. With all the running, bending, writing and all, I’ll have no time for eating or sleeping. No problem!! Is that my voice? Shrill? That’s okay! I’ll be fine!
